Sitting at the heart of Asia, viction:ary books specialise in visual arts and design, and connect visions and inspirations from the West and the East. With focuses on graphic design, illustrations, fashion, architecture, product design and contemporary art projects, our radar observes global designs that essentially present strong, original concepts and graphical approaches. What We Do
Publishing and book design has been at the core of our creative pursuit. Since 2001, we have produced over a hundred publications and design references noted for their progressively high standards in visual and editorial direction that excites the industry at international level. We believe thoughtful details in book design illustrate real quality and thus, our endeavour to explore new printing techniques, materials and applications is constantly a work in progress. Our expertise in publishing and creative collaborations complete the equation that essentially leads to consistently proven results. In addition, viction workshop also provides wide-ranging production and design services around visual communication and books that specially emphasise visual impact and touch.

1. Project Coordinator
Project Coordinator serves as the focal point between viction:ary and creative makers and freelancers worldwide on the company’s in-house or client projects. Working closely with editorial and design teams, the role will involve managing the delivery of quality book projects and and enforcing deadlines.
– Source and research engaging design topics
– Ensure solid progress in copyright clearance and material procurement for publication
– Liaise with designers, visual artists and agencies worldwide for project contribution and collaborations
– Check and coordinate timescales and resources for publication
– Write effective project brief, invitations and run content for victionary’s social media platforms
– Update company’s online portfolio
Requirements / Qualifications:
– Keen interest in graphic design and developing a career in publishing
– Excellent organisational and communication skills to articulate instructions and establish performance criteria in clarity and with elegance, verbal and written, in both Cantonese/Chinese and English, internally to management and externally to creative individuals at an international level
– Proficiency in a third language is desirable but not prerequisite
– Resourceful problem-solving skills, with good judgement and awareness of international design and publishing trends
– Degree holder with a minimum of three years’ of experience in publishing, media, project management or client service, preferably in design-related businesses
– Responsible team player who can also work independently under pressure to meet deadlines
– Based and eligible to work in Hong Kong
2. Art Director / Graphic Designer
Art director/Graphic designer shall handle printing, editorial and book design in particular for publications on graphic arts and design, assist in realising and initiating in-house design projects including ad-hoc commissions and source design projects for in-house publications
Requirements / Qualifications:
– University graduate in graphic / visual communication design or related disciplines
– Minimum 2 years (Designer) 5 years (AD) relevant work experience – Sharp design sense of graphic arts trends, typography and printing knowledge
– Possess strong interest in print and book design
– Highly self-motivated, self-supervising and multi-tasking abilities to manage a diversity of projects with tight schedules and deadlines
– Good team player and with excellent communication skills
– Good written and spoken English and Chinese – Proficient in Mac platform and excellent skills in using major design software.
– Good knowledge in web design and Flash Action Script or 3D application is a plus
– Based in Hong Kong
3. Assistant Editor
The post holder is responsible for topic research, sourcing, editorial development and key communications for the publishing and promotion of victionary books both online and offline. Assistant Editor will report to the Creative Director and Editor and undertake general editorial duties.
– Write, translate, edit and proofread editorial content and press release
– Correspond with local and overseas counterparts and designers to ensure collaborative projects can be published on schedule
– Source design works and propose feasible topics for publishing
Requirements / Qualifications:
– University degree
– Minimum 3 years of proven experience in news and feature writing for English design or lifestyle publications
– Passion for design and awareness of creative and publishing trends
– Good connection with the global creative industry is an advantage
– Competence in English and Cantonese, both spoken and written
– Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly, accurately and independently
– Based and eligible to work in Hong Kong
4. Freelance writers, editors and photographers
viction:ary is seeking creative minds with good design sensibilities for CITIx60. Editorial positions include design and lifestyle writers, editors, and translators with competence in English and an additional language, preferably Japanese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, Italian, etc. Other opportunities are lifestyle photographers and co-curators preferably with a strong network in the creative field. Actual tasks and requirements vary with job. Suitable candidates should be sensible to details with good time management skills.

Terms and Conditions
The following General Terms and Conditions of Business shall be valid for the entire business relationship between viction workshop ltd (“Shop”) and the purchasing person (“Orderer”) regarding the online shop under the domain of www.victionary.com (“the Site”).
Changes to Shop’s Terms and Conditions are made from time to time, and Orderer’s continued use of our website following any change shall be deemed as Orderer’s acceptance of such change. It is the Orderer’s responsibility to read Terms and Conditions carefully before accepting them and regularly check Terms and Conditions for changes.
2 Delivery and Consignment
The item will be delivered from Shop to the address which Orderer provided in his/her order if not agreed otherwise. Any information in connection with the period required for delivery is without guarantee unless Shop has expressly assured a certain date of delivery to Orderer.
This limitation of liability shall apply also for our employees, representatives and any person employed by Shop in the performance its obligations, excluding circumstances where such loss or damage is not a reasonably foreseeable result of any breach of duty of care; any increase in loss or damage results from breach by Orderer of any of these Terms and Conditions; or such loss or damage relates to any business or non-consumer loss or damage including, without limitation lost data, lost profits and business interruptions.
If an error is discovered in the price of the item(s) Orderer has ordered, Shop will inform Orderer and issue a full refund as soon as possible. Shop shall be under no obligation to fulfil an order for an item which was advertised at an incorrect price, if the item(s) has been charged and not despatched Shop will cancel and refund respective orders.
Although Shop aims to keep all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on Site as up-to-date as possible, Shop does not guarantee the information (including product descriptions) always reflect its exact position at point of order. Shop also reserves the right to alter prices to take into account forces beyond Shop’s control (e.g. currency fluctuations) without prior notice.
Shop reserves the right to withdraw any products from Site at any given time and/or remove or edit any materials or content on Site. Note that availability, conditions, dates and prices may change from time to time without prior notice. The Orderer should check those prior to making a purchase.
All prices are in US Dollars ($/USD), and All payment transaction will be made in US Dollars ($/USD). Orderer may choose a currency from top menu to display reference price.
All offers on this internet site are not binding and are without commitment. In each case a valid contract shall only result and become effective by Shop’s written confirmation of the order through e-mail, by mail or at the latest when Shop performs the order. With regard to an ordered product which is not set out in the confirmation order no sales contract, shall be deemed to have been closed with regard to. The amounts payable mentioned in such confirmation notice is/are due with the receipt of said confirmation.
Payment can only be made through credit card, an invoice purchase is not possible. All purchases made on Site are final and non-refundable in case of sub paragraph 2.
If Orderer defaults with payment of an order Shop is entitled to withhold further orders, Shop will not be in default of delivery in such event. It is not necessary that Shop expressly exercises announces its said right to so withhold orders.
4 Packaging and Shipment
Shop will package the item according to custom and usage.
Shop is entitled to chose route and means of transport if not otherwise expressly agreed with Orderer. As a rule, shipment will be done by Royale International or TNT.
A standard postage of 18 (eighteen) USD for each copy purchased on top of nominal or discounted unit price for orders from Asia, Europe and North America. Additional postage might be charged for orders from the rest of the world. Shop will take all reasonable care to ensure goods and/or products are delivered in their original conditions but is not liable for any damages of the good or/and product caused once it leaves Shop’s warehouse and/or during the course of delivery made by contractor courier.
5 Reservation of Title
The product delivered remains our property (reserved product) until full payment of all (including future) claims resulting from our contractual relationship with the Orderer; included in these claims are also conditional as well as claims which have been included by us in a current account. Extended reservation of title is hereby granted to us so that any and all claims resulting from a resale are hereby transferred to us in the amount required to cover our own claim.
In the event that the Orderer should be in default of payment, it is obliged, upon Shop’s and/or its affiliates demand, to allow us to repossess the reserved product still in Orderer’s possession, to provide Shop with a detailed list of the said product(s), to isolate the applicable product(s) and to return/transfer same to us.
6 Liability for Defaults
The item will be delivered with the characteristics and quality which are customary for manufacturer at the time of delivery, if this is reasonable for Orderer in consideration of Shop’s interests.
A certain qualities shall only deemed to be assured if Shop and Orderer agrees same in writing. Shop is not liable if any delivered item which might infringe foreign copyrights or other foreign industrial property rights of third parties.
Orderer is obliged to check the delivered item after receipt to verify if same is free from faults. Orderer is obliged to notify Shop in writing within 7 (seven) working days after receipt of the item if the item is apparently faulty. This written notice must contain the exact description of the default and the order number. To proof that notification shall have been sent in due time shall be the date of postmark or any other provable date specification.
In case that a purchased item is faulty, Orderer shall be entitled to ask for supplementary/complementary performance. Diminution shall be excluded. Any further claims of Orderer shall be excluded if not otherwise mentioned below.
