CITIx60 Art Print Project
Vancouver City Map
Vancouver’s strikingly diverse architectural styles catch the eye in this comprehensive CITIx60 Vancouver City Map. From the Neoclassical Vancouver Art Gallery to the Art Deco-styled town hall to the domed Bloedel Conservatory and the characterful family houses, the map emanates a rife sense of evolution that propels the colourful city. This energy is also evident in Vancouver’s aboriginal culture and natural features. The presence of native art and modern public art pieces capture the city’s roots, then fast-forwards into the multicultural metropolis it is today, mixing Eastern influences evident in its festive vibe and international food scene.
Illustrator and artist Janice Wu brings forward her home city of Vancouver in full vibrancy with gouache and pencil. Her personal style investigates material culture — the nostalgia and meaning placed into everyday items, metamorphosing ordinary objects into personal treasures. Her intricate designs have graced the pages and stores of the Canada Post, the New York Times and Urban Outfitters, observing subtleties and poetic possibilities in the mundane every-day life.
CITIx60 Art Print Project is an extension of CITIx60 City Guides.
