CITIx60 Art Print Project
Milan City Map
Plunge into the commercial and fast-paced world of Europe’s fashion capital in the CITIx60 Milan City Map rendered by local illustrator Federica Ubaldo. With the map’s innocently roaming full-figured characters and homogenous facades of residential buildings, Ubaldo sheds light on Milan’s role as Italy’s core industrial powerhouse. Objects like a slice of pizza, a lute and rainclouds are enlarged and highlighted, whereas iconic cultural landmarks blend into the architectural landscape, accentuating the lifestyles and emblems central to Milanese culture.
Specialising in editorial illustration, Federica Ubaldo is a Milan-based graphic designer is noted for her surrealist style that breaks free from the logic of reality. Ubaldo’s work often mixes traditional media with digital techniques, ensnaring viewers within a web of peculiarities. She holds a degree in illustration and multimedia animation at Istituto Europeo di Design.
